Dormitory Network Regulations of National Chung Cheng University

Article 1

Users must apply for permission to use the dormitory network every semester, during winter or summer vacations, or when changing dormitories. The application method for dormitory network access during winter and summer vacations will be announced separately. Users who use IP addresses without payment will be reported to the Student Affairs Office for resolution. Application page URL: https://www.dorm.ccu.edu.tw/student/

Article 2

Payment Standard

For the fall semester:

  • Payment from the beginning of the semester until 10/31: NTD 1,000.
  • Payment from 11/1 to 11/30: NTD 750.
  • Payment from 12/1 to 12/31: NTD 500.
  • Payment from 1/1 until the end of the winter vacation: NTD 250.

For the spring semester:

  • Payment from the beginning of the semester until 3/31: NTD 1,000.
  • Payment from 4/1 to 4/30: NTD 750.
  • Payment from 5/1 to 5/31: NTD 500.
  • Payment from 6/1 until the end of the summer vacation: NTD 250.

Article 3

Refunds

Applicants requesting a refund should bring a photo ID and payment receipt to the Room 219 Dormitory Network Office for processing. Refunds will not be provided for users permanently suspended due to violations of usage regulations.

Refund Standard

For the previous semester:

  • Refund from the beginning of the semester until 10/31: NTD 750.
  • Refund from 11/1 to 11/30: NTD 500.
  • No refund will be provided after 12/1.

For the upcoming semester:

  • Refund from the beginning of the semester until 3/31: NTD 750.
  • Refund from 4/1 to 4/30: NTD 500.
  • No refund will be provided after 5/1.

Article 4

Users should provide accurate information when applying for dormitory network access. The applicant is responsible for any network connectivity issues resulting from incorrect information.

Article 5

Users must bring their own network card and Category 5 (CAT 5) or higher unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables for connection.

Article 6

When users change their dormitory beds, they must bring the "Dormitory Network Bed Change Certificate" and student ID (or photo ID) to the Dormitory Network Office for bed change processing.

Article 7

To maintain network security, users' network card numbers (MAC addresses) must be registered in the dormitory network system.

Article 8

Online reconnection: Users temporarily disconnected from the dormitory network due to infection can use the online reconnection system to restore access. The disconnection period will start from the time of reconnection application. Online reconnection system URL: https://www.dorm.ccu.edu.tw/student/

Article 9

Wired and Wireless Network Traffic Limitation

There is a daily traffic limit for incoming and outgoing traffic to off-campus locations. Exceeding the traffic limit will result in the suspension of dormitory network access, which will be restored automatically at 12:00 AM the next day.

Article 10

Disconnection Due to Infection

Users engaged in actions that attack other users due to infection will have their dormitory network access suspended according to the following schedule:

  • First offense: One-day suspension starting from the reconnection application.
  • Second offense: One-day suspension starting from the reconnection application.
  • Third offense: Two-day suspension starting from the reconnection application.
  • Fourth offense: Three-day suspension starting from the reconnection application. The suspension period will increase in this manner, with a maximum limit of 14 days.

Article 11

Penalty for Intellectual Property Infringement

Downloading or uploading materials with copyright issues (illegal) will result in suspension of dormitory network access. Users disconnected in this manner will not be able to use the online reconnection system and must personally apply for reconnection at the network management office.

  • First offense: One-month suspension, and the user needs to sign a non-repetition guarantee at the network management office.
  • Second offense: Permanent disconnection for that semester.

Article 12

It is prohibited to use the dormitory network to set up servers. Violators will have their dormitory network access permanently suspended, and the case will be referred to the Student Affairs Office.

Article 13

It is prohibited to use IP sharers, wireless network routers, NAT, or any other means to privately share the dormitory network. Users caught engaging in such activities will have to pay for multiple computer dormitory network usage fees and the case will be referred to the Student Affairs Office.

Article 14

It is prohibited to use the dormitory network to interfere with or disrupt the software or hardware systems of other users or nodes on the network. This includes spreading computer viruses, attempting unauthorized access to computer systems, and any similar behavior.

Article 15

Any changes to the above regulations will be announced separately. For any other matters not covered here, please refer to the "National Chung Cheng University Campus Network Usage Regulations."
